About Amanda

I support high-achieving professionals and couples in cultivating embodied awareness, relational depth, and sustainable resilience.

Amanda Gill

Amanda Gill, LPC, BC-DMT is a bilingual Licensed Professional Counselor and Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist with over 15 years of experience providing somatic psychotherapy and relational support across clinical, community, and military settings.

Her work integrates movement-based therapy, interpersonal neurobiology, and trauma-informed counseling to support high-achieving professionals and couples navigating stress, leadership demands, life transitions, and relationship complexity. Her professional interests center on the relational and communicative dimensions of movement.

Amanda’s approach is grounded in the understanding that emotional regulation, presence, and meaningful connection are not purely cognitive skills — they are embodied capacities. Through a collaborative and thoughtfully paced process, she helps clients cultivate greater self-awareness, resilience, and relational intelligence.

Across all areas of her work, Amanda is committed to creating grounded, collaborative spaces that support sustainable growth, meaningful connection, and authentic expression.

Her Approach

Amanda believes that high-functioning lives often require individuals to operate primarily from the mind — planning, leading, producing, performing. Yet sustainable wellbeing and authentic connection require integration of the body’s wisdom.

Dance/Movement Therapy offers an experiential pathway toward this integration. Rather than focusing on performance or technique, sessions emphasize embodied awareness, relational attunement, and mindful exploration.

The goal is not to “fix” clients, but to expand capacity — for presence, for choice, and for deeper connection.

  • Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
  • Board-Certified Dance/Movement Therapist (BC-DMT)
  • American Dance Therapy Association
  • Military & Family Life Counselor

Amanda’s clinical training includes trauma-informed counseling, somatic psychotherapy, couples therapy, authentic movement, and interpersonal neurobiology.  She has conducted research exploring how social dance can strengthen connection and attunement within therapeutic environments, deepening her understanding of nonverbal communication and embodied trust.

Alongside her clinical work, Amanda is a professionally trained dancer, choreographer, and founder of DC Casineros, an internationally recognized Cuban dance company dedicated to preserving and sharing Cuban popular dance traditions. Her artistic and therapeutic backgrounds inform one another, shaping an approach that balances clinical depth with creativity, presence, and embodied insight.
